This shop is located in front of Terukuni Shrine which bustles with tourists visiting places associated with Saigo Takamori. Sanpei Ramen is the originator of kuromiso (black miso) ramen which offers a thick slice of richly flavored kuromiso marinated kurobuta pork fillet and kurobuta pork soup. It also offers “standard” ramen with a richer flavor than the miso ramen at other shops. The ramen in a thick soup of grated mountain yam is now becoming popular. Among all kinds of potatoes, only mountain yam can be eaten raw. In China, this yam is used as a nourishing tonic.
