A power spot, just a 2 minute-walk from Sakurajima Port!
Tsukuyomi Shrine has a history of 1,300 years.
Feel the energy of the shrine while standing quietly on the grounds surrounded by nature.
There are two kinds of fortune slips at this shrine – the pigeon fortune and the owl fortune.Which will you choose?
When climbing the stairs next to the temple grounds, you will find a small observatory with a magnificent view of Sakurajima, Kinko Bay and Kagoshima City.
It is located right next to Sakurajima Port, so be sure to visit the shrine when you arrive at Sakurajima.

Fresh local fruit and vegetables such as Sakurajima radish are available
Fresh local fruit and vegetables including Sakurajima radish are available here. The popular Sakurajima komikan orange, thought to be the world’s smallest mandarin orange, is tiny but very sweet. You should try Sakurajima komikan soft ice cream here. Other items such as locally created pottery make ideal souvenirs. There is also a restaurant and an information center here. The site is located along National Route 224, near the Sakurajima Port ferry terminal.

Yunohira Observatory
An observatory comands a panoramic view from the highest accessible point in Sakurajima
From the observatory you can see the mirror-like surface of tranquil Kinko Bay and the urban district of Kagoshima City below. You can also see the Kirishima mountain chain in the north and beautiful Mount Kaimon in the south.
If you find the seven heart marks hidden in the observatory, somehing good might happen to you.
There is a bus stop for the Sakurajima Island View buses that make a loop trip in west area of Sakurajima.
