On the arcade street near the Tenmonkan tram stop, Kakashi Yokocho deals in sweets and Yakusughi wooden products. They have great selection of sweets : Kagoshima specialties Karukan (Kyushu confectionery) and Kasutadon, Western sweets such as Yakidonatsu (baked donuts) and cakes and Japanese snacks.Yakidonatsu is now popular among Japanese and foreign tourists as a healthy oil free food. At the eating area on the fisrt floor with a quiet waterfall, you can enjoy freshly baked Yakidonatsu. Teahouse Kakashi,on the second floor, offers Kasutadon parfait and Shirokuma shaved ice. Yaneura Gallery exhibits calligraphy, brushwork paintings and folk handcraft articles.
